Ellery Dental Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the controller of the personal data you give us through this website, by phone or by email. This notice explains how we handle it under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect, and why

• Your name and contact details, so we can reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, book you in.
• The treatment you are interested in and any note you choose to add.
• If you become a patient: your dental and medical history and treatment records.

For enquiries our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before providing care (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Please keep health details in the form brief; it is better to discuss those with us directly. Dental records are special category data, which we process to provide health care (Article 9(2)(h)) under a duty of confidentiality.

Contacting you

We only contact you about your enquiry or your care, by phone, SMS or email, when you have asked us to. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or telling us. We keep a record of the consent you gave and when.

This website

We measure visits without advertising cookies. Optional analytics only load if you agree to them. A map only loads from Google if you choose to open it.

Our chat assistant

If you use the chat assistant on this website, your messages are processed by a third-party AI service to generate a reply, which may involve processing outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. Please do not share health details in the chat. If you would like the team to follow up, the chat offers a form for your contact details, handled like any other enquiry.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. Website enquiries are handled for us by our website provider under a written data processing agreement, and stored in the UK. Within your care we may share information with other health professionals, such as a laboratory or a referral practice, or where the law requires.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted within 12 months. Dental records are kept for the periods set out in the NHS records management code of practice, which we follow as a private practice too.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy. Contact us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
